The Veterinary Emergency Group became what it is today due to a collaboration of many community veterinarians. For over 25 years, we have provided after-hours emergency and critical care to the dogs and cats of Westchester and Rockland counties. We’re here for your pet on the nights, weekends, and holidays that you can’t get to your primary veterinarian’s office. Our Rockland emergency vets are on hand to provide your dog or cat with quick, efficient, professional, and compassionate care. We know this is a frightening and scary time, so we will be here for you through your pet’s entire stay. You can be confident that your pet will also be in excellent hands with us.
Dr. David Bessler is the current owner and medical director of the Veterinary Emergency Group. Quality medical care is important to him and he also has excellent customer service. Dr. Lisette Lewis loves all areas of veterinary medicine, but particularly likes emergency care because of its unpredictable nature and quick pace. Dr. Nastassia Germain also enjoys the fast nature of emergency medicine, with interests in pediatric and critical care. Our Rockland emergency vets all work together to provide efficient and compassionate care to your furry friends.
At the Veterinary Emergency Group, our Rockland emergency vets treat critical cases that fall into three categories:
Once we have assessed what category your pet falls under, a treatment plan will be formulated. What happens next depends on their emergency situation, but your dog or cat may receive X-rays, ultrasounds, lab testing, and much more.
