Natalie Lang, DVM
Medical Director, VEG Houston
Education:
Purdue University BS, University of Illinois DVM
Why Emergency Medicine:
I originally went to vet school to become a zoo vet. After starting my ER rotation during my 4th year I quickly realized how passionate I was for emergency medicine. Everything from the fast pace, the unexpected, to juggling multiple cases/crises, to the cases themselves (especially being able to help a pet get back home with their family after presenting in critical condition).
Get to know me
If I were a superhero, my superpower would be:
The ability to instantly teleport to anywhere and anytime in past, present, future time
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working:
Spending time with my family, snuggling up with my pets and a binge TV/movie marathon, traveling to new and exciting places
What has been the most rewarding part of your career/position?:
Being a part of the human/animal bond. It is such a reward/joy to see people’s relationship with their pets and to be able to keep that relationship alive.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is:
Worry is a misuse of the imagination. Focus on the things you have the ability to change/control and don’t waste time worrying about the unknown.
