Sarah Pietropaoli, DVM

Education:
University of Virginia: Bachelor of Arts; Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University: Master’s of Public Health; Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Why Emergency Medicine:
I love the excitement of never knowing what’s going to come through the door, but I also love helping pets and their parents at a time when they really need it.

What I’m happiest doing when I’m not working:
Anything with my dog, family or friends — but mostly my dog.

Most rewarding part of my position:
Going from a “new er doctor” that was trained by senior doctors, to becoming one of those senior doctors that gets the privilege of training new doctors.

Best piece of advice:
When you have a choice to be right or to be kind, choose to be kind.
