I have had to take my dog Chucky to VEG twice over the last year. Honestly, he wouldn’t be here without them. First visit was pneumonia on a Sunday that I couldn’t let him wait until Monday for a regular vet visit. Yes it was expensive but I knew going into an EMERGENCY vet clinic that that was to be expected. Second visit was the scariest and most traumatizing of visits for us and it was about a week ago. I have spend thousands over the past 5-6 months trying to figure out what has been wrong with him. I’ve advocated for him to the best of my ability since the beginning but got zero answers just hoping and praying something was going to work. Chucky became almost paralyzed overnight and was showing extreme neurological symptoms and very excessive drooling. His little back legs were stiff and I immediately left home early in the morning to bring him to VEG. The ENTIRE STAFF were so involved with him and his care and honestly seemed to genuinely love him. We were the only patients there that morning so thankfully we had everyone’s undivided attention - and he really really needed it. I still believe he would’ve died that night if I hadn’t brought him in. Dr K and Dr F are awesome doctors and their techs working that night were amazing. Dr F asked for his liver to be added to his CT scan he ironically had scheduled later that afternoon. We were all worried it could be a possible tumor or something along those lines given his behavior and how fast symptoms came on. Dr F brought up the possibility of liver shunt and stressed the importance of getting that image at his CT appointment. And GUESS WHAT. After spending thousands and wasting months trying to get a diagnosis for him, - she was right. His little liver was poisoning him from the inside out and recirculating all the toxins constantly through his system causing all the neurological symptoms, loss of feelings in his extremities, etc. I can’t say enough good things about VEG honestly. Is it expensive? Of course. Does it suck that it’s expensive? Hell yeah! But they’re an emergency clinic for a reason - when you can’t see your vet and it’s an emergency, you pay the fee. I would do it all over again. My Chucky is scheduled for his liver shunt surgery and is pretty much back to his active self!!! Love all of you and thank you for being so patient with me even when I felt inconsolable. You guys do great work. Chuck says thank you!!!! First photo was right after his discharge from VEG 🥺 second was a day later at Home Depot! Complete 180°!

Exceptional Emergency Care – Highly Recommend! Our fur baby has a collapsed trachea, and last night, he experienced a severe choking episode that we couldn’t get under control. It seemed like he wasn’t breathing, and we were terrified we were losing him. We rushed to VEG Emergency in Allen, as our vet recommended them for their full ER capabilities, including oxygen tanks and emergency care. The moment we walked in, the team sprang into action. A group of about 5-6 professionals immediately began triage, administering oxygen, an IV, and calming medications while monitoring his vitals. He spent several hours in an oxygen tank and received thorough exams, gabapentin, and other treatments. Throughout the process, we were able to stay with him, and the staff kept us informed every step of the way. What stood out most was their compassion and efficiency. Despite handling multiple emergencies—including a family with an unresponsive kitty, whom they fought tirelessly to save—the entire team remained professional, empathetic, and incredibly dedicated. Special thanks to Sarah at the front desk, Nicole (our tech), and Dr. Nickelberry, who were absolutely amazing. Every staff member we encountered provided top-notch care, making the experience feel like a human ER—only faster and with more empathy! We were also pleasantly surprised by the cost. For all the care and attention our pet received, it was less than $500, We've spent more than that on a sick visit to a vet many times before during business hours. The pictures after AFTER he was stabilized and just before release. Didn't get before pics, as it was too scary, and we were focused on his treatment, but what a difference it was.

Quite literally the best veterinary team out there. Every single person we interacted with was kind, supportive, and honest. We primarily worked with Dr. Woods and our nurse Lauren — both were incredibly patient and took the time to walk us through every possible option when June wasn’t feeling well. She ended up needing to be hospitalized for most of the day and we were able to stay with her the entire time. Seeing the level of care — not just for us, but for every pet and family around us — was honestly really special. It’s clear that this team TRULY cares — and in what could have been a really stressful few hours, we felt nothing but supported. June is now home, recovering, and well on her way back to normal. We are so SO grateful — and while I hope we don’t have to go back any time soon, I wouldn’t hesitate to take my pets there in an emergency!
