In the middle of a crisis, I couldn’t ask for a better experience at VEG. It was one of the scariest days of my life, and they understood and validated that we were going through a hard time. Every single staff member I talked to (Dr. Nearing included) was kind, compassionate, understanding, and helpful. They all did an amazing job of making us feel as comfortable as possible and went above and beyond with their kindness and assistance. They even offered us drinks and snacks throughout the visit. My cat (Spoopy) was seen immediately upon entering the hospital, and I loved that I was able to be with him while he was being evaluated. The open concept of the hospital made me feel involved in every step. I saw the doctor within about 5 minutes. Dr. Nearing had a very calming manner and made me feel like Spoopy was in safe and capable hands. I was also updated regularly throughout his testing and reunited with him quickly afterwards. His diagnosis was something that his regular vet had missed - thank god for amazing work they do at VEG. Thank you so much to everyone there for taking care of my baby. I hope I never have to take Spoopy to the ER again, but if I do, VEG is definitely where I would take him. Thank you so so much. I highly recommend VEG to anyone who needs emergency care for their pet. I cannot reiterate more the kindness and compassion of the staff and doctor. Not only did they care about Spoopy, but they cared about us and kept us updated in every single step of the process. Thanks to them, my baby is home and on the mend.

Its taken me months to be able to write this review without crying. When you have a pet, your worst nightmare is needing an ER for your loved fur-baby. But if you do ever need one, VEG in Buffalo Grove is where I hope you go. They not only take amazing care of their patient, but they also take amazing care of the family. In September one of our cats had a breathing issue in the middle of the night. The doctors discovered she had fluid in her chest, drained it, took images and sent everything off for testing. When she did not come out of the mild sedative they knew something was more wrong than they initially expected. The fluid was not an infection. The doctor explained, with care, that my 15 month old cat was experiencing heart failure. She explained my options, the possible outcomes, and what long term care would look like. We were luckily in a place to make the decision to try to save her. They kept her for 24 hrs and let me and my husband visit with her as often as we liked while she was kept in an oxygen chamber. AND when we were able to take her home, they were able to credit back some of what we had prepaid! I cannot thank them enough for saving our little Nutmeg. While we now know she does truly have a heart condition and will not live a long life, we are giving her the best we can for as long as she has. VEG of Buffalo Grove are life savers and I thank my lucky stars everyday they were there that night.

This was a nightmare to have my cat take ill on New Years Day. I found VEG because I had driven past it. What a wonderful experience from the moment I walked through the doors until I left. Lauren, the receptionist greeted me the minute. I walked in the door. I was allowed to sit with my cat in a very comfortable chair until a vet came to see me. I was offered soft drinks, coffee and snacks while I waited. This is a wonderful open concept ER for pets. You stay with your Pet through treatment. I actually thought I'd walked in the wrong door when I entered because I saw all the crates and exam tables. It actually is a wonderful concept in emergency care for animals. I personally feel It eases the pets anxiety as well as the owners. I saw two different Veterinarians and both were wonderful, Dr. Walsh when I arrived and Dr. Hayward.when we left a few days later. They Identified a foreign object In my cats Intestine. Rather than just tell me he needed surgery immediately I was given 3 different treatment options, theirs being quite costly, They suggested that they call my vet the next morning and see if my vet would do the surgery required which would be significantly less expensive. They took care of all the details and communicated with my Veterinarian very efficiently. My kitty went back for aftercare for 24 hours after the surgery and he was well monitored and taken care of until I could take him home the next morning. Anyone that has had a Pet treated in an emergency situation knows how expensive it can be and there is really no exception here, it was expensive but considering the care that my cat received it was worth it. Hopefully I will not have to go back to ER with my pet again but if I do, this is where I would go
