University of Michigan; University of Pennsylvania; Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

Originally from New York, Dr. Lehman grew up in a family of doctors and nurses but his passion for medicine would take a different path. After completing veterinary school on the beautiful island of St Kitts, he returned to the states to complete his clinical training, and developed an interest in emergency and critical care medicine. His love of the outdoors brought him to Colorado. He is the proud father of two amazing children and two rambunctious rescue dogs!

There aren't enough words to express how grateful we are for VEG, Dr. Saunders, and all of the vet techs, radiology techs, etc. at VEG for their compassion, deep knowledge & expertise, and commitment to pets and their humans. We brought our beloved dog Isaac to VEG after spending 6 weeks going other vets three times and not receiving any substantial testing or diagnosis for his symptoms. It was only after he got very sick and ended up at VEG that he was diagnosed with lymphoma that same day within an hour. We can't comprehend how this was missed along the way, and ultimately we lost our beloved boy just two weeks later, but it is because of the team at VEG that we were able to get him comfortable and start treatment immediately by being referred to a specialty hospital the same day. We had the most meaningful two weeks of our lives with Isaac as a direct result of the care and quick thinking at VEG. Dr. Saunders felt like our guardian angel during the most terrible and terrifying time of our lives. We could not be more grateful for their care.

Had to bring our pupper in. We noticed she wasn't up to her normal sassy self. Upon arrival she was immediately looked at and they kept petting her and loving on her. They had me holding her and being in her sight for all the procedures they ran. They brought her a comfy place to sit while we waited (which wasn't long). The open concept of the place is amazing. It's weirdly comforting knowing what's being talked about for your animal instantly. Dr. Pierce (JP) and Nurse Liberty were amazing.

Wow, Id like to first off say thankyou to all staff that were working on 3/31/25. My cat aka my son aka Gordito has been very sick for months, He had mild fevers, Lethargy and diarhea among other things going on. Around 3/29/25 i noticed his health was deteriorating rapidly and gordito was barely able to meow or pick his head up, He hadnt eaten in days and wasnt taking fluids like a growing kitten should. He was severely frail and cryed in pain if we attempted to hold him or move him from in front of the heater vent. He developed serious jaundice withen mere hours as well. 1/3 of my family is my best friend gordito and i was terrified and sick to my stoumach about loosing him. We had been to Sploot, Evolution vet specialists, DDFL, CSU, Wheat ridge animal hospital and a few other places paying THOUSANDS of dollars to try and treat my sick kitten and NOBODY could give us a diagnosis or definitive EFFECTIVE treatment plan. My poor baby was sick from the day he was born and we have been activley going into serious debt and ruining our finances trying to fix him properly. EVEN WHEN other vets told us we had nothing to worry about and he was fine. We had lost complete hope for the veterinary world and Medicine in general as nobody & nothing seemed to help my cats illness. That is until 3/31/25 When fate and a last ditch hail mary pass to save my cats life landed in Dr joshua pierce's hands. Dr Pierce. I hope you read this and i sincerely hope you take what im saying to your heart. You saved an innocent sweet caring soul who had never had a chance at a healthy life. You Gave Gordito his first solid chance at a healthy life and thats all because of you and your ethics... Thankyou for everything from the bottom of my heart. Dr Pierce had a very difficult situation on his hands, He was dealing with very distressed cat parents as well as a very sick kitten who was hours away from death. He Quarterbacked a diagnostic plan and got to work.... After extensive lab testing and waiting on radiology results he came to the very difficult conclusion our cat has been suffering from Feline Infectious Perotonitis his entire life. (F.I.P) for short. We were shocked and devastated our kitten was handed such a horrible diagnosis and i was bawling my eyes out at the fact he has been mishandled, mistreated by other Vets and not taken seriously up until this point. We tried everything and every vet that was reccomended to us simply did not do a damn thing to help us. Feline infectious perotonitis is a very difficult disease to diagnose and is quite rare in the feline world. Dr Pierce formulated a care plan and gave us some meds to take home, We arrived home and i was sitting in angst and wondering if my cat is going to live to see tommorow... I then recieved a phone call from Dr Pierce... He was doing more research on our case and was helping gordito even after we had accepted our fate and left VEG which he totally did not have to do. He went the extra mile and went above and beyond to ensure our kitten had a fighting chance at survival and a happy and healthy life. It has been 3 days since we left veg and our kitten is grooming himself, Playing with toys. Eating and drinking normally and is putting out some healthy looking poops. His jaundice is subsiding and Its like he was cured practically overnight... Dr Pierce performed miracles on 3/31/25 and i will never forget how he helped our family until the day i die. Thankyou VEG and thankyou Dr joshua pierce. The very small but mighty barber family is eternally grateful for you. We could never pay you back for the gift you have presented us. You restored my faith in the human race. Dr Pierce acted with precision, focus, Integrity, composure and sheer detirmination and saved my kittens life. He figured it out when nobody else could.
