24 Hour Emergency Vet Hospital and Urgent Pet Care in Columbia, Maryland

Dr. Pansy Lee-Suzuki

Dr. Pansy Lee-Suzuki

Medical Director

VA-MD Regional College of Vet Med

Dr. Pansy Lee-Suzuki graduated from VA-MD Regional College of Vet Med in 2007 and started out in general practice/urgent care and has had the privilege of practicing in several different cities around the country and abroad. Her first experience with emergency medicine was in London, UK and it changed her life! From that point on, she knew that she had to pursue a career in emergency medicine, so of course, VEG ER for pets was the natural place to be.

She has been with VEG since April 2020, and has learned and grown tremendously throughout her career here. She truly believes if you are looking for a collaborative work environment that is hugely supportive, then VEG is the place to be. She commits to ensuring the VEG mission is
fulfilled and believes in investing in doctors and support staff with education/growth, emotional/mental support. She truly believes that VEG is revolutionizing the way we help people and their pets when they need it the most.

She was the Medical Director of 2 VEG hospitals in Washington DC for the past 2.5 years and is now the Medical Director in the Columbia, Elkridge location.

Outside of her busy work life, she prioritizes her family and is the mother of 2 beautiful girls and two fur babies. Some hobbies include-running outdoors (making it a point to run anywhere she travels!) working out/being active in general, spending quality time with my loved ones and of course, like most people, she really enjoys good food and travel!

My 6.5lb chocolate Pomeranian, Mars, managed to sneak away at home to eat a 8 pc box of Belgium chocolates from my work bag! From the moment he and I arrived to VEG Elkridge Columbia, he was triaged immediately by awesome Dr G Forte and nurse techs Danny and Marissa. Staff had a calm, professional approach which helped ease my anxiety. Dr K Yamamoto, nurse techs Hannah, Marian and Kait as well as the CEC at the front desk were the wonderful night team who cared my pup. What truly set this experience apart was how compassionate and communicative everyone was. VEG allowed me to stay with him the entire time and together overnight in a clean private room. VEG explained everything clearly, answered all questions, and treated him with such gentle, thoughtful care. I witnessed the same treatment with other families and pets who were there since VEG is a large open space. Thanks to VEG’s quick action and genuine kindness, pup has recovered well. Highly recommend VEG Elkridge to any pet parent looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and skilled vet team. Thank you for the positive experience during a traumatic event on Thursday evening May 15 2025. (By the way VEG leaders, how can I get one of your VEG doggie bandanas for my pup? )

VEG did a great job seeing us for wounds my 17 lb dog received from a run in with a large groundhog on a Monday around 10 am. Our regular vet could not fit us in. Brought my dog in

You don’t often think that anyone has a “good” experience in an emergency room—but this team truly knows how to do it. I couldn’t recommend Dr. G and her team any more. The compassion, care, empathy, and attention given to the pet and their owners was unlike anything I’ve ever experience before. They saved my pets life, and somehow made the experience of almost losing her, not the worst experience ever. Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
