Our manager, Trisha, had a fantastic experience at VEG Newton. As soon as she walked in with a client's cat, the team was ready to jump into action. She explained the symptoms to the vet, and they got right to work. The staff was both compassionate and straightforward, walking her through every test and result with clear explanations. They took the time to answer all of her questions and made sure she fully understood what was happening. Their commitment to the comfort of the animals in their care was especially impressive. Since the cat doesn’t live with dogs, Trisha mentioned he might be feeling stressed, and the team immediately moved him to a private, quiet space. The vet staff was incredibly kind, sweet, and friendly with him—and he made quite a few new friends during his visit! A Heartfelt Thank You to the Team at VEG Animal Hospital in Newton. 🐾 We cannot express enough gratitude to the entire team at VEG Animal Hospital in Newton for providing the most kind, caring, thoughtful, and detailed care for our beloved “Furbaby”, Bruin, during his recent emergency. Bruin suddenly developed an upset stomach, began eating grass to induce vomiting, and within an hour, his condition worsened. He started whimpering, struggling to vomit, and urinating while sitting, all alarming signs that made it clear he needed urgent medical attention. Just as we were leaving for the emergency vet, we noticed blood in his urine, confirming something more serious was happening. After being seen by our incredible emergency vet, we were referred to VEG for surgery because it allowed us to stay with Bruin during the procedure and overnight as he recovered. From the moment we arrived, the team at VEG welcomed us with compassion and urgency, making us feel reassured in an incredibly stressful situation. Initially, it appeared that Bruin would require surgery due to the positioning of an open safety pin in his stomach. However, thanks to the extraordinary skill and dedication of Dr. Kennedy, who performed the scope endoscopy, and the amazing support from the Techs Nicole and Erin, they managed to avoid invasive surgery. Bruin is usually very nervous at the vet, although, the team’s gentle care and comforting presence kept him calm throughout the entire process. In a truly miraculous turn of events, just as surgery seemed imminent, Dr. Kennedy located the safety pin at the last moment and successfully removed it without rupturing anything, a testament to their exceptional expertise and patience. What truly set VEG apart was their constant communication, allowing us to watch and be included throughout the procedure. The level of detail they provided during and after the surgery was remarkable. They ensured we understood every step of the process and provided aftercare instructions that were more thorough than anything we’ve ever experienced with our other “furbabies.” In what was a heart-wrenching experience, not knowing what the outcome might be, the care and support we received from the VEG team made all the difference. Dr. Kennedy, Nicole, Erin, and everyone else we encountered gave us peace of mind and comfort, knowing Bruin was in the best hands. We cannot thank VEG enough for their swift action, compassion, and unparalleled skill in caring for Bruin. We highly recommend them to anyone in need of emergency veterinary care. Without reservation I’d take our dog here an again in a heartbeat if she needed urgent care on the weekend! The staff are amazing and patient with frightened dogs like mine. No shame, no judgment - just understanding and care :-)
