We ended up here because I cut my poor baby’s nail too short and he started bleeding…we were in and out in less than 45 minutes. We got all the medication he needs and a cone to keep him from licking his nail. They took very good care of US as I was more worked up and scared than my sweet boy- I also learned it is very common for black nails to get cut too short… Be careful pawrents!

If I can give them 50 stars I would the service that they gave me and my baby was excellent the staff were caring they explained everything so I can understand it and the fact that they weren't worried about money and they were only worried about the well-being of my animal brought tears to my eyes . Being low income its extremely hard to find an emergency vet that will take care of your animal for little to no money I'm so appreciative. I will go to this place every time they are so awesome thank you VEG

My grandmother's beloved 13 year old dog was acting very strange and was obviously in pain. We called other emergency vets that said we'd have to wait several hours to be seen. The San Ramon VEG is right down the street from my house but about 20 minutes away from my grandmother but I had heard really good things about them so we headed there. Triage was quick, the Dr did his assessment and discovered an acute abdominal bleed. All of the care takes place right there in the emergency room so you never have to leave your pet or wonder what is going on. They actually encourage you to talk and pet your pet to calm them down while they do their treatment. Our dog was given pain meds to be comfortable almost immediately. It was a lot to take in emotionally but the vet and vet nurse gave us plenty of time to think about our options, ask questions, and hear about different treatment plans. We ultimately had to make the very difficult decision to let our dog go and they put us in a lovely comfortable room to say goodbye. They didn't rush us or try to tell us to do something that they personally wouldn't do for their pet and they were also transparent about the cost of all of our options. While I hope that I don't ever have to come back to VEG, if I had to recommend an emergency vet to someone, it would definitely be San Ramon VEG. You can tell that the vets, nurses, and techs all love and respect their jobs and are some of the best in their field. Thank you VEG.
