I brought my dog Abel here on easter sunday and was met with amazing staff right away! Dr. Riddick was very thorough and very informative in my dogs care and with being on a tight budget they did everything they could to make sure my dog was taken care of first and foremost. We were sent home same day with meds to start that day. Within 24 hours my baby started to get better and within 48 hrs you would have never known he wasnt doing good. I have raved to family and friends since having this experience that i will definately use this facility for emergencies in the future no questions asked. I want to thank Dr. Riddick and the amazing nurses especially nurse Liubov. Without you guys i dont know what would have been the outcome of my baby. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and will definately keep recommending you guys moving forward!

I cannot say enough incredible things about VEG in St. Pete. Late Friday night, my dog Arlo suddenly collapsed without warning. I rushed her to VEG, and from the moment I walked in, I knew we were in the best hands. Mike was the first person I met, and his kindness immediately put me at ease during what was the scariest moment of my life. Dr. Manning wasted no time — she ran tests right away and discovered that Arlo had a ruptured tumor on her spleen and was bleeding internally. She was rushed into emergency surgery. Dr. Pollihan, who wasn’t even scheduled to work, came in to assist simply because he’s so passionate about surgery. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of people who work here. What makes VEG truly unique is that you never have to leave your pet. The entire hospital is open-concept, and you’re involved in every step. They even gave me a private room with a pullout couch so I could get some sleep while Arlo was in surgery — and they told me if I woke up at any point, I could go watch the surgery through a window. The care and thoughtfulness were just beyond anything I could have hoped for. The surgery was a success thanks to Dr. Manning and her amazing team. Throughout the night, nurses Amy T. and Alicia were incredible — so kind, so compassionate — I truly felt like Arlo and I were surrounded by love and competence. The next day, Dr. Riddick and Amy Grace took over Arlo’s care, and they were just as wonderful. Dr. Riddick has incredible bedside manner, and Amy Grace brought such fun, positive energy into a tough situation. I also have to give a special shoutout to Kevin and Candace, who were so much fun to chat with and made the experience even lighter. Honestly, every single person I interacted with was amazing — which is so rare. Not a single “bad egg” in the bunch. It was actually bittersweet to leave because I was sad to say goodbye to everyone who helped save Arlo’s life. And to top it all off — I just got the call that Arlo’s tumor was benign. Thanks to VEG, my sweet girl is still here and we can finally move forward. If you ever find yourself in an emergency with your pet, do not even think twice. VEG St. Pete is where you need to go. They gave me my dog’s life back, and I will be forever grateful.

I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Peters and his amazing team for taking such great care of my baby. We had a pretty scary moment when my cat showed signs of a urinary blockage. As soon as I brought him in, the team jumped into action—no time wasted—and treated him with so much love and care. I had never left my cat overnight with anyone before, so I was really anxious. But when I came in the next morning and saw they had set up an iPad playing videos of birds and squirrels to keep him entertained, I was so touched. It was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture. Dr. Peters explained everything in detail without making it overwhelming or confusing. He offered me options, listened to my concerns, and truly made me feel heard and understood. I felt confident that my cat was in the best hands, and I’m beyond grateful that I ended up with this team.
