Recently went to the VEG Hillsboro location while visiting Portland due to my 8 year old husky ingesting a decent bit of dark chocolate. As a vet student who’s worked with VEG back in Florida and has always had a positive experience (and also personally having a high standard of what quality medicine looks like), VEG was the first place to come to mind to take care of my baby. Within an hour of arrival, she was examined, vomiting was induced and reversed, and meds were prescribed to send home. My husky can also be a bit of a diva, and she did so well with the team. Very stress-free, which is always a win. Dr. Thomas and her staff were the absolute sweetest and very personable. Should I have any other emergency concerns (hopefully not!), they will be where I run to. Thank you for being there us in the middle of the night! - Hannah and Calypso

This review is a little late but the service and compassion I was given while there left such a lasting impression that I still remember how I felt after my visit. I came in to VEG on March 6th 2025 because my cat Luna was not herself, was not eating or drinking much and was yowling. I knew something was wrong and my regular vet didn't have any open appointments so I came here. The staff at this location are by far the most kind, caring, knowledgeable, understanding and compassionate Vet and Vet Techs I have ever experienced in my 15+ years of pet ownership. They were very communicative, gave me wonderful advise, answered all of my questions and even guided me in what to do after I left. They kept up with me for 4 days after I left to make sure Luna was getting better and that she was going to stay better I was there for about 4 hours but I knew by the end of my visit I had made the right choice. they are amazing people at an amazing location working for an amazing company. If they were a regular vet I would switch to them in a heartbeat and never look back. I added photos of Luna to show her progress back to her old, cute, adorable self. before her visit and for a couple of weeks after, she could not curl up into a ball, was not very social and would hide away because of the pain. Now, she is he old self and I am more than happy at her progress but also the amazing care we received from VEG. 10/10, 5/5 Stars, would come back without hesitation, would recommend to everyone I know if they had a vet emergency. no one else has earned my trust or respect to this degree. Our pup had a pretty severe case of salmon poisoning, so we brought her into VEG. She unfortunately needed to be hospitalized for a few days due to liver failure resulting from the salmon poisoning. This was our first time at VEG and we were so impressed by our experience. The whole staff - from the receptionists, nurses, doctors, and everyone in between - really made us feel as comfortable as can be given the stressful situation. They were so friendly, accommodating, and most importantly, they maintained thorough communication throughout the whole ordeal. Everyone was so knowledgeable and we knew our pup was in good hands. They let us stay in our own private room and spend multiple nights by our dog’s side for the whole time she was being treated. This made the experience so much better, being able to stay by her side. They provided snacks, a mattress, drinks, and many thoughtful amenities. They’re extremely transparent about all of the pricing and expenses, and we felt it was more than fair (let’s be real though, emergency vets ain’t ever gonna be a cheap experience). Needless to say, we’d highly recommend VEG if your pet is in need of urgent care! Our doggo is home now and hopefully on the road to recovery, and we’re so beyond grateful to the staff for getting her started down it.
