Dr. Howell hails from Georgia and has practiced emergency medicine at several practices before joining VEG in 2021. She has a special interest and training in clinical pathology. Fostering learning, growth, and practicing excellent medicine drives her to be the best leader she can be for her team. When not practicing, Dr. Howell loves spending time with her family and crew of rescue mutts!

I would not hesitate to bring any animal here. We brought our senior cat at 6pm who was suddenly sick. One of the vets was literally the one that opened the door, and our cat was triaged, temp and heart rate taken within 30 seconds of walking in the door. We were there for 4 hours for monitoring. All of the vet techs that we saw were excellent & accommodating. Dr. Bailee Eitzer was genuine and concerned about our cat. Just so you are aware, they are very expensive (and hospitalization is when more expensive) but it was worth it in our time of need. They have bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasound, oxygen, surgical rooms all on site. I wouldn’t hesitate coming back. After 2 follow up visits at our normal vet, paws is finally back to feeling better! Thank you all !!

I cannot say enough about the Veterinary Emergency Group of Brookhaven. My dog was on the brink—multiple seizures, barely breathing—and I was panicked, without resources, and fearing the worst. From the very first call, they guided me with care and clarity. When I arrived, Dr. Klapko, Joe, Luca, and the entire team sprang into action. Their skill, speed, and compassion quite literally brought my dog back to life. They treated him like their own, comforted me through it all, and worked with me financially so I didn’t leave with more stress. The miracle wasn’t just medical—it was the humanity behind it. Dr Hughes and all the staff are so truly awesome. They all had excellent skills handling a German shepherd that was scared and seriously injured. Clearly an entire crew of people that really love animals. Fees seemed very reasonable too. Lady and I thank you so much!
