EMERGENCY VETS AND URGENT CARE IN Pleasant Hill, CA

welcome to VEG Pleasant Hill!

Dr. Jason Dombrosky

Medical Director

Western University of Health Sciences; California Veterinary Specialists rotating internship

During his internship, Dr. Dombrosky discovered his love for emergency medicine. With years of emergency experience in specialty hospitals, he accepted the opportunity to open his own practice for VEG in 2021. Dr. Dombrosky is proud to celebrate each anniversary of “helping people and their pets when they need it most” at VEG! Dr. Dombrosky lives in California with his wife (an equine veterinarian), three wonderful kids, and in true vet med fashion, a number of animals. Says Dr. Dombrosky, “Our days are definitely busy and revolve around pick ups, drop offs, and feeding kids and critters!”

Loved the care my 2yo Cane Corso Bonnie received. We came in for an abscess on her chest/tummy area. Normally cautious around people she doesn’t know, Bonnie was calm after initially showing typical guarding behavior. The receptionists were confident when we arrived and did not show fear that in turn kept her energy calm. We were placed in an exam room away from the waiting area , that also helped Bonnie to be less anxious. Dr Suzanne Miller and her vet tech were able to conduct the examination to assess treatment options. I really appreciated the care she received and would like to return for Bonnie’s annual visits! Thank you VEG, you’re great❣️🐾🐾

IMPORTANT TO KNOW PLEASE READ. If you love your dog, like I love mine. There’s only one Veterinarian Hospital, that will treat my dog for the rest of his life. VEG Veterinary emergency group, did a fabulous job! I couldn’t have found better care for my Cane Corso. Again, they are the best in the Bay Area! Full Stop!

Brought my dog here because he got attacked by two dogs while he was on a run. He was bleeding still when we got there, and I had no idea the extent of his wounds. From the first phone call with Molly, I felt like we were in good hands. The staff never made it seem like we were a burden, and everyone was very sweet and respectful of his nervous temperament. The facility was really clean and modern, and they have a courtesy snack and drinks area, which was really nice because we were there for a few hours from check in to leaving. Molly was so sweet and cleaned up the blood my dog left on the floor while we were in the bathroom so it didn't look so distressful, and she even got him towels and a doggy bed to lay in since he didn't want to lay on the couch after awhile. Dr. Mackenzie Forsythe was amazing. She was very clear about everything and thorough. I love her demeanor. The nurses were all great as well. We were lucky to work with Ben, Gabrielle, and Sierra. Ben and Molly were very helpful with some billing stuff at the end since the other dogs' owner was footing the bill for us. Gabrielle and Sierra were so kind and patient with us, and they were so personable and accommodating. I really appreciate the fact that you can stay with your pet from start to finish here unlike some other ERs Ive been to where they just take your dog and you have no idea what's going on for hours on end. I got to keep him comfortable and happy the whole time and even got to watch the procedure. These people care about service quality and patient comfort, and you can tell they care about the families as well. All wonderful folks. The vibe in the office was so chill too, so that really helps the animals, I'm sure. It didn't feel like a crisis center like some of the other places We've been to, and I wish all vet experiences were this pleasant. They really made a terrible, stressful situation palatable and memorable in a very positive way. I hope we don't ever have to go back, but I would come back in a heartbeat for any other emergency.
